Usually I read about low noise op-amps but I am fiddling around with distortion circuits and decided to seek out a really crappy op amp. Soooo any recommendations?
Oh, how do you interpret the datasheets anyway when seeking out noise information in general?
If the datasheet does not mention its noise level or its distortion level then they are high.
But the noise is popcorn poping and hiss that you probably do not want.
Some information about noise and OpAmps is available in this document and this one.
You can make the typical OpAmp circuit noisier by simply increasing the resistance of the feedback resistors while keeping the gain the same.
