Negative voltage from a 9V battery?!

How do i get -5V from a 9V battery? Is that possible? Difficult?

There are also many prebuilt DC-DC converters in DIP/SIP packages for generating -5V.

You could of course use 2 batteries if this isn't a problem for you

HOw about 7905 (TO-92 form for less power and TO-220 form for high power)

hi,

if your current need is low the recom of kinjalgp is okay, but if you need bigger current source then the recom of exo would be preferred.

i think using the 7905 would be okay but that would depend on the circuit design of the project with respect to ground of the circuit and the supply ground.
