Need help with MPLAB IDE

I need to program my microcontroller such that it will do "something" depending on an input. Is there a way to simulate this in MPLAB?
 
Yes use the "stimulus" feature of the MPSIM debugger. This allows you to modfiy input pins on a timed or asynchronous basis.
