I went to a local fleamarket and bought a nice shiny object for 25 cents
and I'm very pleased with it. But one thing keeps bugging me, what is it,
what's it for. When closed you can turn screws of different sizes in it.
I already asked a lot of people but nobody seems to know what it is.
Has anyone ever seen this tool before ?
Some times the screws get their threading slightly spoiled and this tools helps in restoring such to a usable level. the faulty one will be placed in the tool at a place where the screw is has good section . and it will be screwed in out thro the faulty section. by appying suitable pressure the thread will be almost restored.
One might feel -why not replace it.
there will be occassions whrere an appliance has be fitted back and going for ONE off screw for replacement would be impracticable.
- buy pants with both legs attached to them!
- buy a vehicle with all 4 wheels in tact!
- buy a bicycle with a seat on it!
- buy an ice cream cone with ice cream in it!

you can make a flaring unit piece by grinding down a large bolt to a cone. then mount the cone shaped bolt to a vise, connect yer tubing in the holder(which is what you have), put the center of your pipe on the cone, and beat down on the other side of the holder equally. I've also had one of these and haven't had the spreader, so i've had to improvise.
