I am trying to locate some info to build a timer to launch my model rockets (gets boring just pressing a button :p). I found a circuit on here (posted in 2000 I think) so I modified it to what I need. I was just wondering if anyone could tell me if it will work, and how well. Also, would it be possible to set off the rocket ignitor without the use of the relay, if so, how. Thanks in advance :)

Apologies for the size, I couldnt shrink it any more without losing clarity.

I think it should work.
to replace the relay... Depends on what you are switching
If you want to switch AC mains , one could use a triac
For switching DC a FET could be used...

It will be switching DC only. Basically just turns on a 9V battery connected to the rocket ignitor. Any other ideas?
