hi,

the PCM1789 DAC specifies its output as two differential output with 8Vpp voltage output. Does it mean 8Vpp on each channel or 4Vpp on each channel?

thank you!

The IC has a 0 to 5V power supply for the analog output. So a single output could not be more than 5Vp-p.

Differential
Output1 - output2 = differential

I don't really know but lets say the output is 0.5v to 4.5v which is 4vp-p. This is Vcc X 0.8.
Output1 is 4.5v - Output2 is 0.5v = +4v
Output1 is 0.4v - Output2 is 4.5v = -4v
Differential is (+4 - -4v)=8V
