i have an old laptop wich only has a few working components left on it.
one of wich being the the monitor and i was thinking of using it.
either as a regular monitor or for a future project.
in any case i was wondering if any one had any schematics for a driver for
the monitor or any thing similar
tnx.

I've looked into this before and unfortunently since laptops are proprietary their isn't a generic how to convert my laptop display schematic.

You're gonna have to find out what type of display you have and what the controller chipset (if there is one) is onboard.

Then search on google

Mine's a Digital RGB

I have had no luck yet ...
see HERE for an old thread

i searched the net and found some adapters for $300
and also found one site that gave me the pin outs from the cable.
but i don't know how i would connect it to my pc.

and i found out that my display is a samsung tl133x3-124.

also i found a number of manufacturers sites that gave some info on the chips used in making the driver and the ic's used but not enough info for me to get a good idea on how to make one if anyone has any kind of info
on how to make an lcd dilplay work i would appreciate it.

tnx.

My first post - and its helpful too!
LCD panels found in laptops nearly all use proprietry connections. There are kits out there that allow you to connect one up to a 'regular' PC , but they start at £600. The connector is called a DFP , digital flat panel.

Forget trying to find the schematics they won't be released to the public.

here's one of the sites
**broken link removed**

now this kit is not made for the lcd that i have but
if i think that i could find out the pinouts for it.

and if i do find them could i just use a kit like that one

and also my lcd already has the backlight inverter board

oh and my lcd model is LT133x2-124.

oh and also i was wondering if i need to supply voltage to the lcd or will it get the neccesary voltage from the signal source (e.g. pc video card)
