Hello, I have got my hands on one of my old IPhone 4 devices, an A1349 model. It had been so long since I used it, that when I found it, I was interested in getting it back up and working. However, I forgot the password and after looking online I found that you could factory reset the phone using a particular button pressing.

That made me think however, that there has to be some sort of battery, similar to ones you have on motherboards in computers, in the IPhone and that, if you remove it, it should theoretically erase the information and password on the IPhone.

I have pretty much given up on the phone, but now I'm interested in opening up the phone to see what it is made up of. Does anyone know if there is another battery in the phone that might factory reset the phone if pulled out? Just wanted to know, maybe start a conversation about it. I like conversations.

:) Thanks!

I don't recommend to look inside your iphone, discovering how much you paid for so little can scar you for life.

Nope.... It will be stored in an NV ram... They last for ever without a battery present...The NV ram is on the motherboard somewhere You would need to remove it and reprogram it.... Without knowing the variables location I wouldn't even give it a second thought!!! Some market stalls here in the UK have tools to do what you want.... For a couple of quid it's worth taking it to them..

Ah, well, I guess I wont be tearing it apart then. Thanks for the info though!

The only reason why I thought that it might have some sort of battery was because I notices a spherical silver looking electronic and thought it might have been a battery. Maybe its a speaker or something to that affect.
