Interfaceing TTL

Hi,

I need to interface 5v TTL logic (output of a 6522 actually) to an xbox controller PCB. All I want to do is to use the output to send corresponding signals to the postive lines for each button.. no protocol, just use TTL levels to 'press' buttons.

I am assuming TTL levels are used or can be used for the button contacts.

If so, can I wire the 6522 directly to the positive lines for the buttons, do I need transistors as switches, do I need any form of isolation?
