Pls i need a way to determine the inductor of a coil wounded on a cylindrical ferrite core of axial length L and cross sectional area A. And also for a toriod core too. If any one has useful info pls i need them.

If you know the ferrite material and manufacturer, you can look up the inductance per turn. Just remember that the inductance increases as the square of the number of turns. If you don't know the material type, then you have to measure it yourself. Put a number of turns on and measure the inductance. If you don't have a meter, try resonating with a capacitor and measure the resonant frequency.

Do a google search on toroid coil data - there may be enough there to get you started. First site looked good but others may be better.
