Hello guys,

I made an amplifier out of a TL074.
I used a center taped transformer and a 78 and a 79xx regulator for it.
unfortunately when I rise the gain of the said amplifier by the feedback pot, I get hum on the output.
I have use two 104 ceramic caps for the supply pins of the said op-amp.
I do not know what to do to rise the gain yet remove or decrease the hum on the output.
Any idea please?

Thanks

hi,
In addition to the 100nF's you require a 1000uF on the input of the regulator and say a 470uF on the output of the regulators.

Make sure the working voltage of the caps is sufficient.

OK, so what gain level have you designed for.??

Is the volume pot close to the amp,? and are the wires screened.

Please post your circuit.

The wires (especially around the input) need to be short or shielded. As Eric says a schematic would be good.
