You probably want to use 5mm diameter oval LEDs that have 1 LED chip inside.
High power LEDs are made to be used for room lighting and have many LED chips in series/parallel.
Here is a photo of a 50W LED that has 49 LED chips inside. Its forward voltage is 23V so it has seven parallel strings of seven 3.3V white LED chips in series.
