How to make a scoreboard using logicgates.

You start with a complete list of electrical and mechanical specifications for the scoreboard.
After that we can talk about the design to meet those requirements.

How to create a schematic ofbasketball scoreboard using only logic gates. its contain of 5 button which indicates the followig; 1 point, 2pts, 3pnts, reset button and an increment decrement

may professor told us thatwe need to make scoreboard not using ic
And that's the sum total of his request?
How about what kind of scoreboard, what type of display, how many digits, how is it controlled, etc.?

In your first post you said using logic gates, in your second post you said no ICs. So you have to build logic gates from transistors? Or does he want you to use valves?

Mike.

This is homework.

Let's race to see who can be the first to provide a complete tested design with a BOM for a football (either type) scoreboard using RDL.

If that is the entire assignment given to the students, turn in a score board for Jacks and fail the teacher.

Some of these "so called" professors don't have a clue about the real world.

Does a crib board fit the requirements? It's a scoreboard without ICs!

Mike.

First you need to decide on what scoreboard you want to build.

Then describe all the functions of that board.

Here is a block diagram to help you generate some thoughts.

Unless you play some interesting tricks (better do not try) that would make for 6 buttons.

Maybe increment/decrement is considered regardless of its position (i.e., 2-bit entry). Maybe set increment button --> gives decrement with any of the point buttons. Clear (release) increment -->increment? "Reset" should be a guarded button so it isn't hit accidentally.

I can imagine any of the above pirouettes implemented with gates... :hilarious: :joyful:

Had enough. :)
