how to display value on LCD from A/D converter

hello there
I'm working on a power-meter project. The idea is take 2 analog inputs and deliver them into A/D converter then show the calculated power result on LCD display. But at the moment I couldnt find how to convert the ADC value into ascii for the display. Could any1 show me a proper way to implement this in programming codes. Or is there any website i could use as tutorial. (btw I only learnt c- programming). Any comments is appreciated.
