can i swap a can electrolitic cap for a ceramic ?
im converting a preamp for a guitar to smt to reduce size. its a "Tillman preamp"
it has two caps one is 10uf the other is 4.7 uf, they are there for dc blocking and pass an ac signal could i use a ceramic smt in its place with same value

I cannot see any reason why not having looked at the cct diagram.

Electrolytics used to be far cheaper, but that not an issue unless you plan on mass production. Still 18pence per cap isn't too bad.

Just make sure that the cap voltage rating is adequate.
