Hi
I have a few of these module's:
.5" 3 1\2 diget integrated lcd module with led backlight
they have TSL0530-62 printed on the pcb, and one side of the
pcb has a 8 way connector.

I was hoping that i could use 2 of these in a power suply for
showing Volts and Currant, but i don't know anything about them!
I have looked for the data sheet for them but not found anything yet.

Can anyone help me with this ????

Thanks in advance
Howard

hi,
The best I can do is:
https://www.americanmicrosemi.com/information/spec/?ss_pn=TSL0530-62

Is there an ic on the pcb, with a type number.?

Hi Eric
Thanks for your quick reply
No there is no ic as such, just a round black blob
with no info on it!

Thanks again

hi,
That black blob is the chip.
Its a C.O.B. [chip on board].

As its only got 8 external connections, I believe that the controller COB needs to be initialised by an external controller [PIC/MCU].

As you say, the datasheet for the pins and set up code is a must.

The IOW looks clear from here today.

Hi Eric
Well iam not to far from Portsdown Hill, which is one of the sites that i use for ham radio
dx.

These may be 3 1/2 digit LCD dpm modules, like Laskar modules used to be advertised in Practical Electronics mag of UK,

Tsl0530

You need to be good at bit-bashing. You have to assemble a list of all the ON segments , prefaced with a start bit, and clock it in as a 36 bit word. They will be ideal for the application you have in mind, and fun to figure out as well. I've got the datasheet around somewhere, I'll look it out for you.
