I have what I believe is some kind of transistor. I am unsure if it is pnp or npn.

Marks on transistor are

?N
503

I cannot tell what letter or number is in location of the question mark, it is too scratched.

It belonged to a scooter throttle control. I crashed and busted part of the thottle control and this transistor was shorted out when prongs touched.

If I try and use it, the throttle is stuck on full throttle.

There were 3 wires attached to transistor.

A Red one
A Black one (connected to middle pin)
A Green one

anyone know what this is exactly and can I replace it with something close from radio shack.

thanks
