Hi,
As I was adding a fifth channel to my Futaba Skysport 4 (T4VF) transmitter, I accidentally shorted out something on the PCB (the smaller PCB for the trainer chord fell on the main PCB) and released the magic smoke. The unit still seemed to work fine when I tested it afterwards. I noticed that one component in a SOT-23-like package had cracked. I have attached pictures of it. It is in series with the main supply trace to the NE5044 RF encoder chip. So could it be somekind of fuse? The measured resistance over the component is about 1 ohm in either direction. This shouldn't be the failure mode of a fuse. So could it just be a diode?
Any thoughts on this component are greatly appreciated.
