Fiber optic fabric and LED lights

Isn't the fiber bundle in the fabric a small diameter almost the same as the diameter of a single 5mm LED? Then more than one LED will not work.
If you have that star or pie thing with its 8 LEDs then none of the LEDs are shining into the ends of the fibers. Please post a link to the Adafruit ring thing.

There are thousands of high power LEDs available in many shapes and sizes. I think lenses are available for some of them to reduce the 120 degree beam angle so it shines on the ends of the fibers.
I think a single super bright 5mm LED will light the fiber optic fabric very dimly but the LED will not need a heatsink and will not get hot.

Ah.. don't think you understand. There is a hole in the middle where the fiber would be heat shrink into a 5mm LED. That channel is to support the connection. The other LEDs around it aren't for the fiber optic. They are just to light up the area around it. The idea is that these ghostly wings are coming out of this light source. Here is the link to the Adafruit neo pixel https://www.adafruit.com/products/1463. What other high power LEDs do you suggest?
