Eagle pro 7.4.0 cant put via on layer

Hi,
I am using eagle pro 6.5.0 for a 4 layer pcb...it wont let me use vias.....it says , "cant put via on layer x" It just puts a yellow cross there.
Do you know whats wrong.?

I wonder if its because i was fiddling in the eagle.scr...?...but i thought i removed all my edits to eagle.scr (?).

Do you know how different the current autodesk eagle is to the old Eagle 6.5.0?

Did you set the via signal name to the same as the layer where you're trying to place it? For example, signal name = GND.

Maybe check whether there is a line conflict or a naming conflict?

Do you know how different the current autodesk eagle is to the old Eagle 6.5.0?

Autodesk Killed Eagle, does not exists anymore.
Effective June 7, 2026, Autodesk will no longer sell nor support EAGLE.
