Diode

Hi,

I am confused by the number of different types diodes. I have read about each and though I seem to understand, I can't find the one I want.

I simply want to allow the current to go one way down a wire. Nothing funky.


What is the name of this sort of diode?

What voltage and current? Less than 1 amp the 1N400X family would work depending on voltage.

I am trying to get them as part of an order from a particular seller on ebay.

Zener
Silicon Rectifier
Schottky
Signal

and one simply called "diode" (**broken link removed**)

5v 50mA

According to the BAV 21 Data Sheet it should do what you want. It's a general purpose switching diode.

Closest to what you want is the rectifier diode and 1N4007 is a good start.
