Hello ! 8)
I was wandering wich companies offer free samples with worldwide shipments, so till now i found these :

http://www.maxim-ic.com/ <- They offer free samples from them and from Dallas Semiconductor.
http://www.microchip.com/ <- They also offer free samples from their products too.

But i think that only these two in the whole world is very few, the world is a very big place !

So i say that if you know more than these two please share with me and the rest of us, well i hope.

Cheers!! 8)
I'm from Portugal !

At least !!! Someone answers my call for free stuff lol :)
Thank you guys.

Don't you really love to receive those tweeniie little pieces in your house for free ? when you know that in the past we need to buy everything !

Anyway, i have ordered a sample from maxim, it was an memory !! 16 Mb, but i think that the will not send me that, i allready receive the other stuff i ordered together lolol, at microchip i ordered the best PIC the super 18F8720 and 18F6720 (the first controls external ram, till 1Mb lol) a serial memory 64k and a transmitter and receiver PIC for the 433Mhz band, i'm still waiting for those brighty ones lol .
:D :D :D :D :D :D

And why not? ?

If a company makes great chips, i'm twice as likely to buy them if i sample them beforehand. rfPic looks cool ....

anyway, it only costs them 5c to make a chip, so good on them. Samples are a great way to encourage customers to buy products - because i've sampled pics, now i use PICs in all my projects. Some i buy, some i sample, some i steal from the physics lab ( easy mr denver... just joking ).

I've just noted that Atmel sends out samples. Not too sure about reliability of service...

www.atmel.com

EDIT: guy's, don't abuse the 'free samples' service. Microchip was sending heaps of samples to Australia, so they cut the service to Australia. Now i have to ring up the head office here and get 'interrogated' before they send the samples.

ONSemi

Check out onsemi.com

They are stupid and send each tiny part in its own box so you end up with 8 boxes at once but great stuff.

Dammit! the same thing happened to me.... how many times to you ask for samples???

I've only asked once, it's for my solar car project, and i've pretty much said to them "if you would kindly supply us with lots of chips, we'll make you an official sponsor, your logo will go on the car, website, etc, etc."

but i can understand why in aus we'd do that... aussies love free stuff, more so than any other country.... just go to south yarra station when they're handing out samples... it's like a stampede!!!

Hi buddys, well that kind of problem i think that i will not have !!! I live in Portugal as you may have noticed so lets think abouth it, here are few those who work with microelectronics, the most of those that know how to make a simple multivibrator when they finish the school path they start work somewhere and they forget the funn that electronics have !!

I don't study electronics, instead i was "directed" to go to Informatics that is specialised in programming but my love for electronics has grown and not forgotten, so sometimes i program to the PC other i start with something new about electronics.

Few are those like my in my country, even those that iniciated me to the free samples business :D, they where high top engineers from a Philips Factory here in my city, i like them very mutch, they have gaved me more hope in this kind of world that electronics is, remember that in my country its just to dificult to aquire high top electronic parts so these samples are just great for me, and since the most people that order samples here are University Students or High Level Engeneers, as you must imagine those are very few as i said befere !!

I wonder when Intel is going to have a free chip sample program?.......... I could use a couple of them
