Copper Connection

I'm trying out Copper Connection PCB software. I think maybe it's OK. Easy to make new parts.
But.... I'm trying to make a very wide trace using a pour and can't seem to keep it from hooking up to the hole pads.
I'm just placing a rectangle and trying combinations related to pours - no joy
Can someone walk me thru it? No help in help.
