Hello,
I just got ahold of a Ceibo DB-51 (Older unit with no surface mount components)
that appears to have a defective monitor ROM. Does anyone out there have a
binary image of the rom? If so could you post it? Or if you have one of these
boards could you scan the rom and post it?. So far Ceibo has not been much
help. they want me to purchase the latest DB-51 at retail. Riiiiight.

Hello

I know that there are plenty of monitors out there and in fact
I have dozens of them. I am specifically looking for the monitor
rom for the DB-51 board itself since it has all of the necessary
interface firmware in it for that board and I wouldn't have to
re-invent the wheel just to get the board up and running.

Paulmon2, while a noteworthy product was written for their
development board and would involve shoehorning it into
the DB-51's hardware platform. Again, I'm trying to avoid
having to write my own, debug it, then add all of the code
for the wide range of processors that the board supports.

I am planning on trying out 7 to 10 different configurations
and REALLY don't want to have to write specific code for
each and every one.

I might as well buy the board retail if I have to spend that
much time and effort on a board I got from eBay on the cheap.

Thanks for the headsup though.

8051 monitor for the Ceibo

Yes & no. I want to get the Ceibo running with an original monitor.
I also use 8051 variants that have everything from USB 2.0 ports to
multiple A/D's and DAC's built in so while the core is OLD the chips
are not. In fact there are single cycle versions that run at a virtual
99MHZ!. So yes, I am a collector to a degree and I don't like the
idea of pitching something out that works in favor of the flavor of the
month microcontroller. I have boards that I use PAULMON with. I just
want to get the Ceibo board back to it's original operating state before
I pass it on to my grandson. It is his desire to do old fashioned bit banging
the way we did back in the day. Then move up to C, C++, Forth, Logo ect...
