CAN Bus Climate control

Hello there,

I am working on a project in my car - installing a tablet as a head unit (radio, navigation, rear camera, climate control, ...) I am now trying to connect the climate control to the tablet via a microcontroller. I've heard that you can manipulate the climate control settings via the CAN bus. I'am now wondering if this is also possible in my car (AUDI A3 2004)? I've tried to capture some data on the CAN bus with an oscilloscope by connecting to the OBD2 port - pin 14 (CAN High) and 6 (CAN low) but there was no data there... Do I need to send some initial data to start the communication?
p.s. I am doing all this because the tablet display is verry large and is overlapping the climate controlls.

It's very possible since it's a multi-master bus so if no device on the bus has anything to say, nothing will get sent since there is no need for polling.

Sometimes the CAN signals are not on the OBD port. I know of one car where the CAN port is under the hood.

Your before 2008. See: What I really want to know is how is his pubic hair styled. Is it another big comb over?

A search for "2004 audi a3 can port" yields nothing meaningful.
