Can anyone explain what the area in the red and blue squares are for? Many thanks Attachments Geiger Counter.png 103.7 KB · Views: 175

C carbonzit Well-Known Member Oct 2, 2011 #3 Blue one's easy: it's just an electrolytic filter/decoupling capacitor (330µF/25V, between the +9 volts and ground). The red rectangle is apparently the Geiger detector. I have no idea what these are or how they work.
