audioguru Well-Known Member Most Helpful Member Dec 3, 2007 #3 I use Microsoft Paint to draw schematics. Most is pasting pieces from other schematics.

S subaruboy New Member Dec 3, 2007 #7 haven't used it myself but you can try this: http://tinycad.sourceforge.net/ also, if you join autodesk's student community, you can download all the student versions of their software for free, including autocad electrical. that would probably be your best bet.

Includes all the common electronic symbols and you can export your drawing as a *.bmp file. Even if you dont produce your own artworks for etching, the program is helpful when designing Vero board layouts. Here is the link:

3v0 Coop Build Coordinator Forum Supporter Dec 4, 2007 #12 Given that you want to draw schematics there is a good chance that at some point you will either want to simulate the circuit or make a PCB for it. If you pick a draw only solution you will have switch tools to do either. If you think you will be doing simulation first go with a spice program like LTspice. If you think you will be doing a PCB first go with a PCB layout program like Eagle.
