Applying capacitors across AC in various serial/parallel ways using FET's.

My bad, it does fix it.

the PNP base can't drop more than 1/2 vDirect
It can only drop about 0.7V below Vdirect, regardless of the Vdirect value, because of the base-emitter junction.
 
For the bottom two I rejigged and it works. Strangely the output is slightly less on one cycle - I've been unable to crack it.

The first AC half-cycle after v(mcu) switches will be different from subsequent ones of course. Try adding a slight delay to MCU in the sim and you'll see.
