i once came accross schematics for a device the size of a computer (which was basically a huge transformer, i think) that could duplicate the feats on the philadelphia experiment. i'm not sure, but i thought it claimed to be able to make anything smaller than a cubic inch either levitate or literaly disappear. is it sci fi or does it have some logical premise?

I've seen it. It was suppose to be a experiment with invisibility, but ended up having some time travel side effects. I don't know for sure if the real goverment project name was philadelphia or not, but I'm sure if you search for it on google, you will find some information on it. You should check out www.keelynet.com they have an interesting site. Also do a search for a device called a MEG. Interesting stuff..
