Who do you think will win (Obama is winning currently) but what are your personal opinions.

I am quite sure Ralph Nader is going to win by a landslide for the upset of the century;)

I am thinking Alfred E. Newman.
The polling booth is private for a reason... :)

I think politics is just like pro-wrestling, where these guys come out an insult each other to get the crowd all worked up with a lot of hot air. But now that Barack has won, I hope for all our sake, that he does so awesomely well that 50 years from now they have to kick George off the quarter and put Barack's picture there instead.

hi,
In the UK we have been force fed for weeks, by the visual media regarding the USA elections.

I think I speak for the majority of us Brits, we are not interested in American politics.
Thank goodness it all over.!!!!

I hope Mr Obama does a good job for the American people.:)

The same goes here for British elections, but we see the news of them as well. Just tune out that segment of the news next time.
US influence is global and future global outcomes depend on how the next Prez. responds to the issues. We shall see what the next 4 years turns out as for America, both domestically and abroad.

I'm looking forward to seeing what Barack achieves. My assumption is that he is a socialist and will enact policies that bring the world back into balance, after all, it's pretty unbalanced at the moment due to rampant capitalism.:D

Interesting times ahead.

<edit>Who is his running mate?</edit>

Mike.

He is only a puppet (a robot?). He is controlled by the hundreds of people in the back room that tell him what to do.

Well he has set straight forward policies as far as foreign issues are concerned but the main will be economy!

Indeed a sad day in America, as the last bastion of freedom begins to crumble. Perhaps the rest of the world will rejoice, but there are many in the heartland of this country today who are grieving for the future of their children and grandchildren.

Presidential candidates promise things they can not accomplish without congressional backing.

It would have been interesting to see how many people would have voted "non of the above, I want a new election without these candidates" if they had such a choice.

The federal government is at its best when one party controls congress and the other the white house. They spend most of their time bickering instead of wasting money or raising taxes.

EDIT: I for one have not given up on the country, just the two party system.

That's what I've been thinking. Obama doesn't have anything in his past to indicate that he has any leadership qualities. I've haven't found anything about him, that shows that he has ever stepped up, and take charge of anything. What I have noticed is he is ambitious, be never follows through on his dreams or commitments. Turns his back on people who don't serve his purpose, or bad for his image he's trying to sell. Got a law degree, but doesn't appear that he ever practiced, or even passed the bar examine. Part-time lecturer at a university, but left mid-term, to become a senator. Year or so into that job, he decides to run for president. Senators serve 6 years... Spent around $700 million on his campaign, seems like a huge sum, not sure what is typical, but would think that money could have been put to better use. Now we, the taxpayers are at his mercy, without much choice in contributing to his will. The Congress, Senate, and House of Representatives all are democratic majority, many of which just vote party.

So, who ever the puppet master, that bought the presidency for Obama, should get little resistance. Guess we'll see in a few months what the intentions are, hopefully not too bad.

That's fairly dismissive of a man who graduated magna cum laude from Harvard Law School, was elected the President of the Law Review while he was there, and went on to teach constitutional law for twelve years at the University of Chicago Law School.

Oh, and he was a practicing attorney from 1993 until 2002 at Davis, Miner, Barnhill & Galland, a twelve-attorney law firm specializing in civil rights litigation and neighborhood economic development. His law license lapsed in 2002, but he was associated with the firm until 2004.

Of course, you could go to Wikipedia and look such things up, and perhaps find the proper orifice out of which to talk at the same time.

For one day a lie became the truth, that lie being that "Anyone can become president of the U.S.."
It will go back to becoming a lie.

The R's screwed up so bad the D's won control of the white house and both houses of congress, everything a party could ask for. If they can not make things "RIGHT" who will they have to blame?

It will be VERY interesting to see what the next 4 years will bring. Could be historically significant. You could say we are "living in interesting times".

3v0

EDIT: Now that they have full control I expect to see a lot of infighting and problems with promises that can not be kept. The normal thing is to blame the other party when this comes up. They can't do that this time.

Except with the rules of the Senate, where you need 60 votes to actually move bills through, the Dems can't just force their will against the Reps. So they will still have an excuse to blame their opposition party for failures to keep election promises.
