hmm.. can help me.. what is the advantage of using linear feedback shift register? then what can it be used for? i using 3 bit LFSR.. pls help.. thanks..

A LFSR generates a pattern that resembles random noise (called pseudorandom noise). It will generate a maximal length sequence, 2^n-1 bits long, where n is the number of stages in the LFSR. The resulting bit stream has all possible n-bit combinations of 1's and 0's, and is therefore particularly useful for testing transmission channels and digital devices.
