5-bit up/down synchronous counter

Hi!

I'm trying to make a 5-bit up/down synchronous counter...

I've been thinking could use 7493's, 4516's or 4029's, two of them cascaded cause each of them has only 4 bit outputs.

But I don't really know much about connecting them.

Hope somebody can help me.

hi,
using the 7473 ur gonna need 3 of them + the circuitery to make it up/down using xor gate..and some other circuitery to make it sync. counter...assynch will be easier

if u can get the spec sheet for the 2 other chip i might able to help ya....
