16X2 Lcd shows alien language :)

Hi..
I made a device using Atmega8 uC, 16X2 LCD and RTC. It worked without any trouble for over 1 year. Recently time to time (1 time in 5 days) the display of the LCD shows garbage language. The device keeps on working its only the display which shows weird character. I have to restart the device to fix the display.


The power of the LCD and RTC is from the same microcontroller pin. The LCD LED is from another pin of uC.

I think one of the data wires going to the LCD is breaking off.

ok. if i shake the display then i should get the same result. i will check it out.

shaking did not work, wires seems to be good.
