Morons lol. Its funny but sad.
Video below:

While I appreciate the sentiment, the guy spending 20mins to introduce a 10min video was giving a superb example of how not to make a presentation.
ie, sitting there just reading some turgid text, it offended my sensibilities.
I had to fast forward to the real video.

As for polluting rivers, we here in the UK do not exactly have a great track record in that regard.
Over the centuries/decades/years we have fouled up our rivers quite badly.
However all is not lost, in recent times we have got our act together and things are a lot cleaner that they were.
Possibly a lot of it was due to pressure and regulation and directives from the European Union.

European Union? Who they?
Oh yes, that lot of nasty foreigners who keep telling us how to run our country.
We will soon be rid of them. (Maybe).

Hang on a minute...
Clean water, nice environment, is that such a bad thing to be told to clean up your mess???
Hmmmm, let me think about that.

Well, youre cross. Me too. I say throw people that litter in the trash where they belong. Im tired of Stupids effing it up for everyone....stupidity meh. Even animals are cleverer than some of these excuse for human beings.....even dogs and cats dont **** in their drinking water............

Anyway, it's Friday night. Party night here. Lemme explain my EXACT location here where I both live and work. I live on the company's premises. It's not a residential street I'm in. It's a business street/area. OK. I'm close to the street. Just a security gate keeps me safe. I hear all being discussed on the street outside. I hear it all. Best thing is that the ...I'm gonna say it "ANC supporters don't have clue that I'm here after the we close for the day. So they think their discussions are safe. Nope... this honest whitey still lives here"

Nope.

I hear all Many happy people outside laughing and discussing what's happening to South Africa. These are the same ones that come past here drunk anytime from 12 till 6Am tomorrow morning. The "bottle smasher's". The same type of clowns that light light fires behind them when walking on a parth in a rural, treed, area. Fires chase the ghosts following them away. Cape Town has seen this a lot lately. Sad thing is it's the youth dong it. The "born frees". Apartheid had nothing to do with it. Born frees were not even born yet.

But it will be blamed for everything that puts a person who can't think in a corner. The only way out is to blame it on a ... people like me. I'm poor AND white. Not rich. You don't see me destroying things.

Anyway I'm realising the reality here

Funniest part of all....my income is from repairing TVs from the stupid ANC voter base here......and the CRT's never stop coming.

I'm like...ok...I'm catching up...turn around.... suddenly another 5 sets waiting.

Anyway I'm here appreciating ETO I'm training a new guy. Testing his basic electronic knowledge. He's a kid but keen to learn. He is smart. He knows Ohms law . So he has potential. Gonna do my best to get him up to speed. He's a guy worth spending time on. I just wish there were more like him.

And it's 1.48 AM here. I'm awake. Can't sleep.Too much noise. Kids celebrating useless. The stupidity is mind boggling.

There is no future for them. Their future has been destroyed by our education system. A 30 percent pass rate says it all. They need need a 30 percent to be accepted at a University......and guess what....they fail. No surprises there.

2.30AM now. Someone revving a car
Waiting for the inevitable tire braking sounds. Just before it hits something.

Party not over there.... I'm putting cotton wool in my ears now. This will only stop around 6AM this morning.
Gonna try sleep.

I always used to throw a resistor or two at them, and ask what value it was

But at least he knows something, and looks to be interested.

When my daughter started University (doing a Masters in Chemistry) one of her friend, Chris, was doing an Electronics degree. Anyway, for three years she hardly ever saw him as he was much too busy with his course (she was also busy, Chemistry is one of the most intensive courses there is, but still had time to socialise), and then three weeks before his finals he packed it all in and quit the course!!.

His problem was he'd never done Electronics, had no interest in it, and obviously wasn't capable of it. As far as I'm concerned, people taking Electronics degrees should have a good background of making projects etc. before been allowed on the course.

I couldn't agree more. Either it's in your blood or not. Electronics is a passion

Anyway, Winter is here now and I can barely walk(or breathe).Last winter was really hard. This one is gonna be my Nemesis. And it's only the start.

Never mind. A few last observations about why South Africa is truly effed. And this is simple stuff I deal with every day in a normal working environment in a Technical field like TV repairs.... no quick tender money here...it's the thinking of the people. All of "them".
1. Switch cleaner finished. Tech won't go and ask for a new one... nope. Puts it on my bench and waits for me to do it.
2. Same with Freeze It. Use the stuff until it's finished and leaves the empty can on my bench.....

It's the damn "AFRICAN WAY".

Consume and never replace. Never maintain or replenish. The DAMN AFRICAN way.

That is all. I've nothing more to say.
Good night my friends.

Yeah. Zuma was the puppet supported fully by the ANC that started the full blown looting of South Africa. He and his looting cronies will pay. The masses as stupid as they are are slowly waking up. And wondering about why their money buys so little food these days. I see it here. Bars and drinking places close early. They don't continue until 6AM anymore the next morning. Lack of patrons. Kids parents can't afford to give the bottle breakers enough money to get drunk. Most of the bottle breakers rely on their parents for accommodation and spending money... cause they are unemployable.

I'm sitting with a guy now I'm busy training. He knows Ohms law...nice. He has passed courses that train theory. But he can't even take a back cover off a TV... doesn't understand how to use a screwdriver. Screwdrivers are important to understand that heatsinks are not there to make a TV strong or pretty. Heatsinks need the device tightened firmly to it with a little heatsink compound. It's crazy. I'm trying to understand how he achieved an N5 certificate...and can't even solder.... it's like he's got this impressive piece of paper... cost his parents a lot of money... but ...

No wonder he could not find a job. Any other employer would laugh at him and chase him away. I understand the **** going on here. And I try my best to deal with it.

The link and video above are funny with Zuma.....but Zuma and his cronies destroyed SA in his time as President.

Education and everything else down the toilet.

Today I asked him to pop a 3.15A fuse in a TV...clips there... just had to push the fuse in. After watching him for 5mins to do this simple thing ... remember he's got theory...I gave up. Common. WTF. He could not figure out how to do it. .... Anyway that's the stuff I need to work through. It's truly crazy. He is higher qualified than me. On paper. But still...... The more I think about this, the more serious it becomes. I'm teaching him about HV and Anode Caps and 27KV there.... nothing.can.go.wrong. Ha ha. And he can't even push a fuse in....

And it has come to this. I spoke to the owner of the business a few minutes ago... I don't trust this new guy around EHT. We are gonna keep him busy and occupied for the next few days by showing him how to strip CRT chassis that need to be thrown away to make space. It's sad that I need to do it this way... but at least he keeps his job in the meantime while I figure out what to do next.

I'm on an impossible mission again
He's got theory....gotta get him to correlate theory AND practical...he should have been taught* BOTH with that expensive diploma he got.

Gonna try do what our education system should have done.
