@Hero999 , I will definitely try this, but struggling to get right value of R,C and Transistor...
 
I've built a similar circuit to that before but without the capacitors, try it without them.

The transistors will need to be able to pass 6A or so and the resistors need to be able to supply the base with enough current to saturate them.
 
That's true, the capacitors just help to speed the turn on time up a bit as well as encourage oscillation, you might be able to omit them.
 
Don't pass over Macbarker's suggestion too quick - one of those Weller soldering guns is a good idea. It's basically just a specialized transformer with a single-turn secondary, exactly the kind of thing you're going to need for this. 100 amps @ 1V is difficult to work with, your wires (excuse me - "buss bars") and contact resistances have to be extremely low.
 
If you make your own transformer, don't stand to close anytime you turn it on... search on "flux walking"!
