Why do we need these components?

Why do we need 10 ohm resistors R6 and R7, I've never seen them used in similar situations. Also, C10 22uf capacitor, why is it there , when the datasheet calls for a 22 uf capacitor on the output only? Lastly, is c11 1 uf necessary , it seems that's it is not large enough to make a difference, since you have .1uf already there?

R6 and R7 aren't required, but do no harm - probably just a personal preference of the designer?. C10 seems fine, it's a supply decoupler and reservoir capacitor. Likewise C11, it makes sense to have an electrolytic (for lower frequency decoupling), and a smaller non-electrolytic for higher frequency decoupling.

But again, it's all personal preference - the paired decouplers are mostly there for 'good practice', in reality they not make the slightest bit of difference.
