Haii all,

My pic kit 2 shows some error ie,when ever we connects to pc it detects as usual but when i load HEX file it shows error as 'Hex file not loaded-Device error'.I checked with different ic and wth different USB cable but the problem exists .Reinstalled software also.Any one have any idea about this problem, which defective component shows this message.

Thanks in advance

Are you sure you've told it correctly which device you're trying to program? And are you sure you've connected the ICSP properly?

EDIT: This seems to be a more likely solution--

4) If the part has code that uses the Timer1 oscillator this can interfere with programming. In the PICkit 2 software, select Tools > Use VPP 1st Program Entry (so it is checked) and try programming them this way. Note - you will need to ensure they are powered from the PICkit 2 unit VDD for this to work.

Usually this happens when the "hex file" isn't the correct size / type for the IC in the pickit2... If you have a different pic than the one the hex file is for..... I use the pickit to program Eeproms (24LC256) and when i try to program a pic12f675 with the hex file of an eeprom, that same message pops up!
