Using a capacitor with a three phase motor to run from single phase has been used on commercial products.

Never seen that before. Before the price of VFD's came down I did make a rotary convertor from another motor but had to start that motor by wrapping a rope on the shaft and pulling it to turn the shaft.

I run a small capacitor and there was not enough torque so I place a another 8 uf cap
