How do I go about picking a battery, say my voltage is 5V and 100mA. what kind of battery is best... since they are all evaluated in mAHours.... I know what that means but i dont think it means that its good idea to run a 100mAH battery at 1/2 amp.(or is it)?

common sense would say use a 300-600mAH battery would suit me ok>?

I am not worried about the time it lasts ...but what kind of stress can a battery handle?
espically a generic brand store one ie: Duracell/energizer AA- 9v
