In addition to the forum rules there are a number of specific rules and considerations for the real-time chat.
The Lobby
Everyone that enters the chat will arrive in this channel. You can discuss any subject matter while in it, however if this channel gets busy and you are teaching, or having a long 'one to one' conversation then you should move to a separate channel.
If you are in a conversation during a busy time and a member asks you to move into another channel you are obliged to do so.
Beginner, Microcontrollers and Meeting Rooms
These rooms are on a first come first served basis and are designed to allow a more private area for a specific chat. If you enter the channel and it is already occupied then they have the right to ask you to leave.
Breaking the Rules
If someone is breaking the rules (and even though we do keep a full log of messages) please copy the offending lines and send them in a PM to one of our moderators or myself. We will review the situation just like we would with the forum.
If a moderator is in chat at the time of an incident, they may take action then and there. Firstly the person breaking the rules will be explained what he is doing wrong and will be asked to stop. If they continue they maybe kicked from chat. Further offences will result in a ban for the entire site.
