Here is the semester long class project we just finished up with. The class was a microprocessor lab and the dean wanted us to make a cannon to shoot t-shirtd with. Over the summer, the police department had donated two dismantled bomb disposal robots to the college.
We mounted a board on top of the ROV and a second hinged board on top of that. A linear actuator can raise or lower the upper board.
The cannon is made up of PVC piping. The large tube is the barrel and the smaller tube next to it is the accumulator. It it fueled with CO2 which fills the accumulater, then when the switch is pressed, a high speed high flow valve releases the air through the barrel.
It steers like a tank with two sticks. One stick controls the actuator by moving it side to side and its fired with one switch.
Whenever we find the right size balls, we have built a reloader that slips on the end of the barrel. After it fires, a servo automatically reloads the ball fo the next firing.

We have tested it at Basketball games and the crowd loves it! WHat do you guys think?
Oh yeah...this is SIU of Carbondale university and the college of applied sciences and arts.

Great- he had you build a Killbot. Didn't anybody see that movie and heed its warnings?
