grandma makes jam every summer and labels each jar "new".

So, does MicroSoft apparently with Skype:

Try this circular loop here https://support.skype.com/en/skype/linux/ for "Contact us"

You can't even look for an answer to a question without having an account: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/site/startsignin?pageUrl=https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/newthread?threadtype=Questions&cancelurl=%2Fen-us%2Fskype%3Fauth%3D1

So, with a "flip of a switch", your IoT device is Gone with no replacement possible.

I did, up until a few weeks ago have this nice landline/Skype handset/speakerphone. Now it's gone. Oh the option to talk to a human exists, but it's circular and only refers you to the "community" or an Alexa type entity (virtual agent)

I once had Skype on my cell phone until the cell carrier said no. I once has unlimited internet on my phone until my new phone had a keyboard.

I once could buy unlimited Internet in 3 hour increment day increments week increments and month increments until Sprint bought Clearwire because they needed the spectrum.

I once could schedule TXT messages every two weeks to my phone with Google to remind me to take out the recycling can to the curb.

I once was able to use Google maps street view. Now, it seems I can rotate the view and do nothing else.

We never had Net Neutrality.

One day, what you depend on will be gone forever and it's not because of progress.

One day, your TV breaks because the manufacturer says today is the last day. Your TV hardware becomes a subscription as well as the content it receives.

Your car's next and then comes life support systems.
