Wiring- very simple, but not for me

An overloaded dimmer is likely to fail shorted, and overheat your rocket fuel.

I agree with tcm, go to a thrift shop and get a proper skillet.

I suppose it's futile to suggest adult supervision or a fire extinguisher, but, really, keep a garden hose handy!!! (And if you get your stuff wet, turn the power off before returning to it.)
