Wire for AA batteries

Im going to relocate the batteries in the xbox controller to where the rumble motors used to be. So I need some wire to connect the batteries to the circuit board. How thick wire should I use?

It would be a small current, so common 22AWG insulated hookup wire (stranded or solid wire) (example) should be adequate.

Do you want to know the technical critieria for selection, or just be told what to use?
