I have a wiper motor that I want to switch on with a relay. The 12v motor is drawing 5amps and the relay I want to use is a R70-5D1-3 on a timer board. The relay contact rating is 1A at 24VDC.
Will this relay work with this motor or will it burn out?
Thanks.

It will burn out - use the 1A contact to switch a car relay to control the wiper motor.

Umm.. You answered your own question. Motor draws 5 amps, relay has 1A rated contacts. The contacts will probably weld or the relay itself well melt.
