Design one multi range voltmeter by using a D’Arsonval meter with a full-scale deflection rating of 1mA and the internal coil resistance of 500Ω. The measurement range of the voltmeter should cover the ranges as shown below.

Voltmeter
1) 0-1V
2) 0-5V
3) 0-10V
4) 0-20V
5) 0-50V
6) 0-100V
7) 0-200V
8) 0-300V
9) 0-400V
10) 0-500V

any one knows the answer ...? ...even the concept only ....

thanx

It's simply a series circuit with a different resistor for each range. The 1V range has a 500 ohm resistor in series with the meter. The 500V scale has a 499.5K in series.

Hai, alwagia
what any one of us know ? we are children before you. When your teacher asked a question, perhaps it appears on the net. Best thing would be to refer text books and then google and learn to study. On the process, if a issue is bogging, one might seek clarification.

By seeing your way of asking , I had a doubt, whether we are students of elementary education and you are our teacher.

For extra credit, be sure that the 250 and 500 volt scales have resistors rated to withstand that voltage.
