OK, Iricgibbs' idea for the LM393 voltage sensing switch worked great for controlling the pump. It can actually keep the pressure within +-2% which is way better than I expected but now I have another problem.

The project is to test the elongation of a high tech rope. I am using an LVDT with a 1" range and output of +-10V. My data logger has range of 0V to 2.5V. I expect the total elongation to be less than .25" so I should be OK EXCEPT if my estimate is off or the LVDT slips and sends the voltage higher. Therefore I need a way cut the input to the data logger if the voltage goes negative or gets over 2.5V but not effect the linearity of the LVDT's output if it is below 2.5V.

Suggestions appreciated.
