Why look into pictures why not reading the notes.

The data sheets do wonders the same circuit & colurs has in the data sheet.

Read that it has more informations than you expect.

i downloaded the datasheet and went through it before this.
but, i do not quite understand how the circuit works as much as i want to
for example, what is the purpose of placing the capacitor C4, C3 and R4 there..
also, the switches S1, it's a push-to-make switch right?
does that mean that if i press once, it will start, and paused when pressed again?
please help.....

hi,
C3 is the ac coupling from the preamp to the main amp and conjunction with R4 form a simple frequency filter.

C4 is the voltage bias filter for the electret microphone.

R6 is a pull up resistor for the switches.

S1 is a 'start' push switch.

Select Playback or Record, then the 'Chip enable' ,,,, 'start' to record or replay.

S1? is a 'stop' push switch, stops Record or Playback and resets the ic ready for your next command. Look at page 8 of datasheet.

Note: the datasheet circuit and the one you have posted have different component idents!

I have read the datasheet and ALL you want to know is in there.

First of all, sorry for this very late reply.
Second, thank you to all who replied to this thread.
I have another question.
I built the circuit according to the schematic provided in the datasheet.
Now, it works fine.
The problem is this, my speaker output is too soft.
By soft, I mean that the voice recorded is too soft to be heard but on the other hand, the noise from the background is too loud.
By the way, I placed a low voltage audio amplifier between the output pins and the speaker.
What should I do to reduce the noise while making the voice audible?
I was thinking of using a low-pass filter to filter out the noise.
If that is the case, what cut-off frequency should I use?
