USB Mains Charger - schottky equivalent?

I've got a USB mains (100-240VAC) travel charger (Model ST-099A20) that has stopped working.

I've opened it up and traced it down to a faulty shottky diode. Or at least I think it's a schottky diode from the info I can find.

Its the 2 black SMD diodes by the white paste in the pic. I've removed them and one of them is shorted.
On the diode is
JF
SS36

Its Maximum repetitive peak reverse voltage = 60V
Maximum RMS voltage = 42V
Maximum DC blocking voltage = 60V
Maximum average forward rectified current = 3A
Peak forward surge current 8.3 ms single half sine-wave superimposed on rated load = 100A

I've checked out the local electronics shop and cant find the same smd device.

My question is can I use something like a 1N5822 in its place?

Max. Recurring Peak Reverse Voltage: 40V
Max. RMS Voltage: 28V
Max. DC Blocking Voltage: 40V
Max. Average Forward Rectified Current at 95°C: 3A
Max. Instantaneous Forward Voltage at 3A DC: 0.525V
Max. Forward Voltage at 9.4A: 0.95V
Max. Average Reverse Current at 40V DC: 2mA

If this is not suitable, can someone please recommend something I could use. It doesnt have to be a SMD.

I would guess the 3A rating of the 1N5822 makes it a suitable candidate (even if the voltage rating isn't as high as the original).
 
Great - thanks. I'll try that and see how it goes.

Update: 1N5822 works like a bomb. As good as new
