I have a device that resembles a 1/4 resistor, but it has 5 colors.

The devices body is violet in color.
The bands are: Red, Violet, Yellow, Orange; the last is Brown and is spaced away from the first 4 colors.

Is this a special resistor, or some other device?

Thanks

**broken link removed** does it look like this?
I guess it's a quality band according to this site, but I always thought it was an extra digit for more accuracy
heres the site I was looking at https://xtronics.com/kits/rcode.htm

Not quit jrz126. The 4 colors are close together (equal distance) while the 5th is on the end spaced from the rest.

TheOne, I placed the device on my ohm meter (with the selector on 200K) and it read 2.71. Wouldn't that be 2.76 mega ohm, instead of k ohm. But your right, it is a resistor.

I don't know what is with your Ohm Meter, But I agree it should be 274K at 1%.
